Criterion 1.4.4 emergency and disaster management

Criterion 1.4.4

Puskesmas prepares, maintains, implements and evaluates emergency and disaster management.

1) Main Thoughts:

a) The potential for disasters to occur in different areas, namely between one area and another.

b) Puskesmas as a first level health facility (FKTP) plays an active role in mitigation and response efforts when a disaster occurs, both internal and external.

c) Strategies for dealing with disasters need to be prepared according to potential disasters that may occur based on the results of the hazard vulnerability assessment (HVA).

d) disaster preparedness is prepared and simulated every year internally or involving the wider community, especially aimed at assessing system readiness in letters (b) to (f) which have been described in the Main Ideas d) section 3) Criteria 1.4.1 .

e) Every employee is required to attend training/workshops and simulations on the implementation of emergency and disaster management which are held at least once a year so that they are ready if a disaster occurs at any time.

f) Debriefing is a review carried out after the simulation with the simulation participants and observers with the aim of following up on the results of the simulation.

g) The results of debriefing activities are documented.

2) Assessment Elements:

a) The risk of internal and external disasters is identified according to the geographical location of the Puskesmas and its impact on services (D).

b) Implement emergency and disaster management (D,W).

c) An annual simulation and evaluation of the emergency and disaster management that has been prepared is carried out, and continued with a debriefing after each simulation. (D, W).

d) Improvements are made to emergency and disaster management according to the results of annual simulations and evaluations. (D).
