Criterion 1.4.3 toxic hazardous materials (B3)

 Criterion 1.4.3

Inventory, management, storage and use of hazardous toxic materials (B3), control and disposal of B3 waste are carried out based on planning and statutory provisions.

1) Main Thoughts:

a) Toxic hazardous materials (B3) and B3 waste need to be identified and controlled safely.

b) The World Health Organization (WHO) has identified hazardous and toxic materials and their waste in the following categories: infectious, pathological and anatomical, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, heavy metals, pressure containers, sharp objects, genotoxic/cytotoxic, and radioactive.

c) Puskesmas needs to make an inventory of B3 which includes the location, type and quantity of B3 and waste stored. This inventory list is always updated according to changes that occur in the storage area.

d) Management of B3 waste according to standards, including sorting, containerization and storage/temporary shelter, transportation and final processing.

e) In managing B3 waste, the Community Health Center can collaborate with third parties in accordance with statutory provisions.

f) Waste water treatment installations (IPAL) are available in accordance with statutory provisions.

2) Assessment Elements:

a) An inventory of B3 and B3 waste (D) is carried out.

b) Management of B3 and B3 waste (R, D, W) is carried out.

c) IPAL is available in accordance with statutory provisions (D, O, W).

d) If there is a spill and/or exposure/exposure to B3 and/or B3 waste, initial handling, reporting, analysis and follow-up are carried out (D,O,W).
